Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026. Attorney review pending; this draft is not attorney-approved. This policy and the submission release may be reviewed and updated with legal counsel. They are not legal advice.

This website is operated by Autism Broadcasting Media Channel LLC, a Georgia limited liability company (“ABMC”). Privacy questions: Emmanuel@autismbroadcastingmediachannel.org, (678) 252-9166, or the contact form.

This policy explains, in plain language, what information this website collects and what happens to it. It describes the site as it works today and clearly labels proposed future purchase handling.

Contact form

When you send a message, we collect only what you type: your name, email address, chosen topic, and message. The website does not keep its own copy. Your message is passed to our email provider, Resend, and delivered to the ABMC team’s inbox so we can read and reply. Your email address is used as the reply address; we do not add it to any mailing list. Messages remain in the team’s email until deleted; we have not yet set a fixed retention period.

Please don’t include medical records, financial details, or private information about other people (including children) unless they have agreed.

Community email list

The free ABMC Family & Community Network email list is optional. If you join, we store your email address, the topics you choose, when and where on the site you agreed, and whether and when you confirmed your address. We first email you a one-time confirmation link that expires after 48 hours; until you confirm, we send you no newsletter. Updates are planned about once a month. To limit spam, we keep a one-way scrambled code of your connection (not your actual internet address) for a short time.

We use your address only to send ABMC updates you asked for. We do not sell it, and joining is separate from sending a story or contact message — those never add you to the list. Every email includes a link to change your topics or unsubscribe at any time; after you unsubscribe, we stop sending list emails.

Help Me Find

Answers you choose in Help Me Find stay in your browser to show suggestions. They are not saved or sent to ABMC.

Ask ABMC questions

Ask ABMC matches questions to curated educational answers in your browser. The question text and selected language are not saved or sent to ABMC or an AI service. Visiting the page can still be measured by the tracking described below; the question text is not included in ABMC analytics events.

Story submissions: what we collect

When you use Share Your Story, ABMC collects your full name, email address, preferred display name (if provided), story title, written story, optional general location or context, and consent selections. We also collect any optional video, photos or audio you upload and any external video link you provide. Records include the submission time, consent acceptance time and release version, file details, and the review status and notes.

Unlike contact messages, story submissions are saved in the site’s private database. Uploaded files are held in private storage. Submissions and media are private and pending by default, are accessible only to authorized ABMC reviewers until approved for publication, and are not publicly visible before ABMC approval. Nothing auto-publishes; recording approval in the review area does not itself publish anything.

How ABMC uses stories and media

We use this information to review and moderate submissions, contact submitters, verify rights, determine suitability for publication, publish approved content, make accessibility edits or captions, and maintain records of consent. Your contact email is not published as part of your story or added to a mailing list.

According to your permission under the Story Submission Terms & Media Release, approved content may appear on the ABMC website, official ABMC YouTube channel, ABMC newsletters, and ABMC-controlled social media or other ABMC-owned or controlled media channels. Approved videos may be embedded and played on the website and uploaded to and played on YouTube. Permission for these uses does not mean a newsletter subscription is operating.

ABMC may create captions, transcripts, thumbnails, short clips, aspect-ratio adaptations, audio normalization, branding and accessibility edits, and make non-material spelling, grammar, length or formatting edits while preserving your intended meaning and context. Material changes to your intended meaning require further approval.

ABMC does not sell story-submission personal information. We may use service providers needed for website operation, private database and file storage, email notifications, spam prevention, and video/media hosting or distribution. The current story system uses Lovable Cloud for private records and storage and Resend for email notifications. Notifications to the review team include submission and contact details; a submitter confirmation email may be sent if email delivery is available. The saved submission does not depend on successful email delivery.

Keep sensitive information out of submissions

Do not upload unnecessary confidential health information, financial details, home addresses, account information or other private data about yourself or others. Include such information only if necessary and authorized. General location is optional; never enter a street address. ABMC may request changes or decline content for privacy or safety reasons.

Submitters must be at least 18. If a minor appears or is discussed in identifiable detail, the submitter must be their parent or legal guardian or have documented authorization from their parent or legal guardian. Do not submit a child’s identifying or private details without this authority.

Retention of submissions and consent

There is no implemented fixed retention period or automatic deletion schedule. Pending or declined submissions may be retained for a reasonable administrative or legal period. Approved or published materials and consent records may be retained longer to document publication rights. A deletion request may not remove records that must be kept for legal or rights-documentation purposes.

Deletion and consent withdrawal

Use the ABMC contact form for privacy questions, requests to see or correct your information, deletion requests, or withdrawal of permission for future ABMC use. Identify the submission and explain your request. ABMC may need to verify your authority before acting; do not send extra sensitive documents unless requested.

You may request deletion of private or unpublished materials where legally and operationally feasible and withdraw permission for future ABMC uses. Withdrawal does not invalidate lawful uses made before withdrawal. ABMC will stop future uses after processing a withdrawal and remove ABMC-controlled copies where feasible, but content already published, downloaded, shared, cached, embedded, reposted or archived by third parties may not be fully retractable.

Embedded video

Videos are hosted on YouTube. Video previews show a thumbnail image served by YouTube; the player itself loads only when you press play, using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. Once a video loads, or if you follow a link to YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok, that company’s own privacy policy applies.

Analytics and advertising

On the live .com site, ABMC uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and videos are useful, including clicks on main buttons and completed story submissions. ABMC’s custom events do not include names, email addresses, story text or Ask ABMC questions. Page addresses, device/browser information and other technical visit data may be processed by Google. Do not put sensitive information in page addresses. The integration requests IP anonymization; this is not a promise that all visit data is anonymous. Google Analytics does not run on preview versions of this site. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

ABMC also loads Metricool’s tracking script globally, including on previews, to measure website visits associated with social media activity. Metricool may set cookies or collect technical data such as pages viewed, referring site, device and browser information. See Metricool’s Privacy Policy.

These scripts currently load automatically; this site does not offer an analytics opt-in or cookie-preference control. Browser privacy settings or tracker blocking may limit collection, but ABMC cannot guarantee that they block every request. Consent, cookie disclosures and visitors’ privacy rights in applicable jurisdictions remain subject to attorney review; describing tracking here does not itself obtain consent. There is no advertising on this site. Changes to advertising or tracking require a policy review before activation.

Purchases (not active)

Checkout is not currently enabled. ABMC does not accept purchases or collect payment information through this website today. The following describes proposed handling only if future digital PDF sales are approved and enabled; it does not mean Stripe is connected to this site or delivery is operating.

Future payments would be processed by Stripe under its own privacy practices. ABMC would not receive or store your full card number. ABMC would receive the customer name, checkout email address, purchased product, amount and currency, order/payment status, relevant receipt details, and refund history. Address information would be used only where necessary for payment, tax sourcing or legal obligations. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

ABMC would use these details to verify successful payment, manually email both PDF formats, resend or correct files, respond to support and refund requests, prevent duplicate handling or fraud, and maintain accounting and legally required tax records. Necessary information would be shared with Stripe and the email provider for these purposes, and with professional advisers or authorities where required. Order contact details would not be published or added to a marketing list. ABMC would not sell customer order personal information.

Manual email delivery would mean the checkout address and attached files are processed by email providers. Email is not a guarantee against forwarding or access to a recipient’s mailbox. No customer download portal or expiring-link delivery is currently operating. A customer-record retention period has not been finalized; before sales, ABMC must adopt an appropriate schedule consistent with accounting, tax, dispute and privacy obligations. Requests to access, correct or delete order information could be made through Customer Support, subject to identity verification and lawful retention requirements.

External websites

Links to government agencies and other sites take you off ABMC. Their privacy practices are their own. External video links submitted through Share Your Story remain hosted by third-party services and are also subject to those services’ privacy and access practices; ABMC’s private review process does not change whether your original link is public on that service.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete messages and story submissions, or withdraw story permission, through the contact page, subject to the retention and withdrawal limits above.

Changes

We will update this page when the site’s features change.
