Story Submission Terms & Media Release
Last updated: October 7, 2026. Release version: 2026-10-07-v2.
This release is for ABMC submission purposes. It may be reviewed and updated with legal counsel as appropriate; it is not legal advice or attorney-certified.
These terms apply when you submit a written story, video, photo, audio recording or external video link to Autism Broadcasting Media Channel (ABMC). Please read them alongside the Privacy Policy and the written and video guidelines on the Share Your Story form.
1. Your age and authority
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal right and authority to submit the story and media. You own the content or hold all permissions needed to submit and authorize ABMC’s use of it, including permission from identifiable people whose image, voice, name or personal story appears.
If a minor appears or is discussed in identifiable detail, you must be their parent or legal guardian, or have documented authorization from their parent or legal guardian. ABMC may ask for evidence of this authority before publication.
2. Content and privacy guidelines
Your submission must comply with ABMC’s written story and video submission guidelines: no profanity, hate speech, harassment, sexual content, graphic violence, illegal activity or unauthorized copyrighted media or music.
Do not include confidential or private information about others without authorization. Avoid unnecessary health records, financial details, home addresses, account information and other sensitive personal information about yourself or anyone else.
If your submission contains third-party music, logos, clips, photos, images or other copyrighted material, you confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for the uses described here.
3. Private review, not automatic publication
Submitting does not guarantee publication. Stories and uploaded media remain private and pending by default. ABMC reviews all submissions before anything is posted; nothing auto-publishes. Approval in the review area records an editorial decision, not automatic publication.
ABMC may decline, remove, unpublish or request changes to content at its discretion for quality, safety, rights, privacy, relevance or policy reasons. ABMC may contact you for clarification, rights verification, edits, publication scheduling or approval of material changes.
4. Permission to publish and distribute approved content
You grant ABMC a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission/license to host, reproduce, display, publish, distribute, stream and promote your approved story and submitted media on:
- The ABMC website.
- The official ABMC YouTube channel.
- ABMC newsletters.
- ABMC-controlled social media and other ABMC-owned or controlled media channels.
After approval, submitted videos may be embedded and played on the ABMC website and uploaded to and played on the official ABMC YouTube channel. Approved media may also be adapted for ABMC-controlled social channels under this permission.
You retain ownership of your original content and may use or license it elsewhere. No compensation is promised unless separately agreed in writing. Permission for newsletter use does not subscribe your email address to a mailing list.
5. Editing and accessibility
ABMC may make non-material edits for spelling, grammar, length and formatting; create captions, transcripts, thumbnails and short-form excerpts; resize, crop or convert aspect ratios; normalize audio; and add branding or accessibility edits. These changes must preserve your intended meaning and context.
ABMC must not materially alter your intended meaning without your further approval.
6. Withdrawing permission and requesting deletion
You may withdraw permission for future ABMC uses and request deletion of private or unpublished materials by contacting ABMC. Identify the submission and your request; do not send additional sensitive documents unless ABMC asks for information needed to verify your authority. Deletion and removal are subject to legal and operational feasibility.
Withdrawal does not invalidate prior lawful uses. ABMC will stop future uses after processing your withdrawal and remove ABMC-controlled copies where legally and operationally feasible, but cannot guarantee full removal of content already published, downloaded, shared, embedded, reposted, archived or cached by third parties outside its control.
7. Your voluntary acknowledgment
By selecting the publication-permission checkbox and submitting the form, you confirm that you have read and understand these Story Submission Terms & Media Release and voluntarily consent to the permissions described here. The separate Privacy Policy acknowledgment and written guidelines confirmation remain required; video guidelines confirmation is also required for a video upload or video link.
Questions about permission, privacy, deletion or withdrawal can be sent through the ABMC contact form. These terms and the policy may be reviewed or updated with legal counsel; neither constitutes legal advice.
